Foggy View, Glacier National Park, Montana

Following a 2 mile mostly uphill walk the beautiful vista revealed itself. This is somewhat reminiscent of the Buddhist rock garden containing 7 rocks. But, if you concentrate hard (i.e. meditate) the 8th rock can be seen.

Chinese Garden, Vancouver, Canada

A small quiet Chinese garden exists in Vancouver. The man above was seen slowly performing his exercises.

Off Road Cup Holder

Another cup holder was spotted and apparently "very useful".

Serious Off Road

Tim had just completed half of the Trans-America trail and was only a few miles from home. Jumping was his favourite pose.

Temporary Traffic Control, Vancouver, Canada

On the other side of the stick is says "slow".

East Hastings Street, Vancouver, Canada

This is a small section of what appears to be a massive drugs and cheap clothes sales area. Driving through is a shock. Visiting on foot starts with constant requests for money that soon become annoying and on occasion mildly threatening. If you find a quiet spot to observe from for a short moment it then dawns on you... All these toothless ghosts, sleeping, sitting or shambling around are real people. Multiple human tragedies are unfolding in front of your eyes. The requests for small change now no longer seem so annoying.

Gastown, Vancouver, Canada

Both of these snaps show the now gentrified Gastown in Vancouver. This is a lovely spot for a coffee or dinner. What isn't so obvious is the lady in the bottom image extending a finger of unfriendship at the lens. She disliked cameras so much that she explained loudly and succinctly that if another photo were to be taken then the camera would end up broken and worn uncomfortably. She then pedaled off on her bicycle. It was strongly suspected that her breakfast included non-prescription items.

Friendly Motorbike Shop, Vancouver, Canada

The staff and customers are very friendly. It is great place to hang out with other bikers and grab some cool gear too.

Street Scenes, Vancouver Canada

It seems unlikely that any useful measure of "happiness" can be purchased for 25 cents.

Starbucks No. 1, Seattle

The queue to go in and worship was long. Many other decent coffee places are located nearby and it was interesting to wonder why this one has gone on to dominate the globe, whilst others have not.

Chihuly Glass Exhibition, Seattle

This one was recommended multiple times and did not disappoint.

Pike Place Market, Seattle

Coupeville, Washington State

Yes, that is the legendary Honda Magna at left, an appreciating classic. This happens to be the rarer 750 version. The rider and pillion are in summer kit.

Deception Pass, Washington State

Northern Cascades National Park, Washington State

The weather was hot and the tarmac a little soft and melty. It was possible to move the top surface around with a bike boot. Speed was hence adjusted to compensate for what were essentially wet roads.

Gold Wing With Coolbox

Winthrop, Washington State

Winthrop has a traditional Wild West style, including a bar named Three Fingered Jack's. It did initially seem that "Three Fingered Jacks" is a card game played by very rough ex-cons & cowboys but this is as yet unconfirmed. Of course we all remember "Scabby Queen" where children delight in smashing each other's knuckles with a deck of cards.
