Alta's cafe overlooks the river in Austin and is a nice quiet spot to hang out. The small black birds that hang around are bold and have developed a taste for goats cheese. How very urban of them.

The Colorado River runs through the middle of Austin and provides some relief from the heat. The couple on paddle boards are making the most of this.

Live Band Singer, Austin, Texas
This chap had a good gravelly voice and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys American Football team. The lead guitarist made a joke about the performance of Cowboys in a recent game and the lead singer followed this up suggesting that the lead singer might like to suck a "you-know-what".
Cuffed by the Cops, Austin, Texas
The dude at left was behaving oddly, shopped by a passer by and then cuffed by the feds. "Blues and Twos" were used and appreciated. The inner monologue starts screaming "Pass me that corset, I have come over all T. J. Hooker". And, as any cigar aficionado will agree Shatner is a god.

On arrival one is greeted by a miniature Freddy Mercury asking to see ID. Tempting as it was the line "Do you know who I am?" was not used and the ID was handed over with a faint smile. What with the greying hair and "lived in" skin the risk of being a really worn out 20 year old was minuscule. Nevertheless, the vibe was excellent. Visit if you can.

According to passers by this was their friend's rig and often photographed. This is apparently a Hummer of some sort.

On the way in to land in Washington DC the clouds started to resemble a ploughed field.
