Frozen Trees

Details of trees overlooking Lake Erie.

Shove Ice Mountains

Some of the Lake Erie shove ice can get quite tall. Note the folk included for scale.

Lake Erie Shove Ice

A local chap explained that the ice is "shove" ice created as it is pushed into the shoreline.
The lump on the right is the size of a large car.
The landscape was also odd to walk over. The ice is simultaneously slippy and sharp with  the occasional hole covered with powdered snow. Crossing the artic or antarctic on similar terrain at -20C must be hard work.

Frozen Lake Erie View

Air temperature was around -7C.
The shimmer in the trees is due to ice encasing the branches.
